Our Story
Authentic Biriyanis, Straight From Our Kitchen
“Celebrating Food & Serving Happiness”
That tagline is what we stand for. Celebrating Food is our passion for bringing people together over good meals. Serving Happiness is the feeling we want every guest to leave with: comfort, satisfaction, and a reason to come back.
It started in 2009 with a simple vision: a place where people could come together over great food and warm hospitality. The next year, we opened our first outlet in Kundanahalli. Just 30 seats. Built on long days and a lot of love for what we do.
The neighbourhood welcomed us. Families, students, office-goers, all came back for the flavours, the portions, and the consistency. Within a year we had expanded the Kundanahalli outlet and opened our second restaurant in Marathahalli, three kilometres away.
Today, Biriyani Zone serves more than 5,000 guests every day across 9 outlets in Bengaluru. The kitchen has grown, but the philosophy has not. We started out to make food worth craving and worth coming back for. That is still the point: quality, consistency, flavour, and care on every plate.
Over the years, Biriyani Zone has become part of birthday dinners, late-night cravings, weekend family meals, and a lot of shared memories. We are proud of that. And the journey is only getting started.
Recognition
In 2026 we won Best Hyderabadi Biryani at the Times Food & Nightlife Awards Bengaluru 2026. That verdict came from the guests who eat with us every day.
Times Hospitality also named us the Iconic Ambience Biryani Restaurant, recognising the full experience: the kitchen, the table, and the welcome. Both awards belong to the team and to the guests who keep coming back.

You cannot rush a dum biryani. The handi is sealed, the flame is low, and the rice and meat cook together until the flavours are fully absorbed. That is the only way to make it right.
Biriyani Zone was built on a simple idea: Hyderabadi dum biryani, made the traditional way, should be available to everyone at an everyday price. The Hyderabadi method is specific. Rice and meat go in together. The handi is sealed with dough. The spices are whole. Saffron, bloomed in warm milk, goes in last.
A Cuisine Worth Preserving
Hyderabadi biryani has a long history rooted in the Nizam's court, where Mughal technique met Deccan produce. That tradition is what we follow.
We are not trying to reinvent biryani. We want to do it right, at every outlet, at a price that makes a great plate of biryani an everyday thing, not a special occasion.
Growing With Bengaluru
As Bengaluru has grown east and north, we have grown with it. From Marathahalli and the ORR to Whitefield, Kadugodi, Electronic City, and Mahadevapura, we now have 9 locations across dine-in restaurants and cloud kitchens.
Same biryani. Same dum process. No shortcuts. Halal Cut. Award-winning. Worth coming back for.
“We believe passionately in great bargains and excellent service.”
